    Default Popular Woodworking Bench

I attended Joe Crumley's wookshop and really liked working on his wood working bench... So I build one. I used The Oct 2008 Popular Woodworking as a basis for the plans. 8/4 Poplar, the top is 72x32x3.. Rock solid and built to last... No dog holes yet until the vises from Lee Valey show up. More Pics Later

How did I get is so flat?
Why the bot of course. It is a great 4'x8' planer. Do one side and flip it. All you need is another person to help transport to the bot. (Thanks Dirk Dunham)

    Good Job Pat.

I know you will enjoy this bench for years

Benches like this can become a work in progress. For example, it took years for me to ge install my all my fixtures. I needed a well in the center to temporarly hold working products, so I sliced her down to middle to get one. Then I need hold downs and bench dogs. Next I'm going to make a full legnth pull out just below the table top. These are valuable tools for the craftsman.

    What a fun project.

    Joe
