I just found this while looking for something else and thought it might be useful. I downloaded the larger file but have not opened or tried cutting anything yet.

Hey Mayo,

This is really cool - the 3D's are setup to mesh together, so need split to work, but the 2D's simply need a bit of manipulation and pocket toolpaths, and we're good to go! Thanks!
