    Default Cheap solid carbide bits

I ran across an ebay seller selling porter cable 1/4 inch solid carbide stragiht plunge bits for a very cheap price.

I bought a few and gave them a run. They cut out my prefinished plywood cleaner than my mortise compression bits. I have not cut but about 10 sheets with the first one, but even if that is all they are good for, it's worth it. It is also listed as a good plastic cutting bit, but I haven't tried yet.

I contacted him and purchased a LARGE quantity for myself, and wanted to pass along the info for others.

    Ebay item number 390184767446

These are 4 bucks each with free shipping and he has some sets of 10 for 34 dollars as well.

    Kenneth,

Thanks for the post, I just bought 10. I use this type of bit all the time.

    Gene,

Here's a link to the individual bits on Ebay:

Just received ten of these. I'll try them out this weekend.
