    Default redesigned dust foot

I just changed the way my dust foot attaches to my PRS Standard. I made a new foot when the one from shopbot broke. I still was using the rod that goes into the Z and would ride up and down with my spindle. What I did was take a 3/8 X 1 inch piece of flat aluminum and machined a grove in the middle and put a 90% bend in it and bolted it to the foot. Next I drilled 2 1/4 20 holes in the stationary side of the z and used some thumb screws to hold it. Now I can set the foot to the top of my material and it stays there.

I did the same as you did and also raised the Y axis carrage a full 2 inches. I cut 1/2 inch off the boot skirt.I now have 3.5 inches ajustment on my dust foot I have been using it for a month now and it works great. I have a SB budy 24 x 32 I see many people are having the same problems. I have been making Wooden toys for 25 years
the SB is my second CNC. I will try and include a picture.
