    Default proximity voltage

I am installing my Prox. Sw. on a prs 48 48 standard and the manual says hook up to the 12+vdc... All I am seeing is 5+vdc on the board.

The little paper with the switches says 10-30vdc....

    Not sure what to do?

I'm not sure what version your assembly manual is, but here is the diagram from the one that came with my 2007 PRS-standard 48x48...

    Adam...
The standards that use a computer white box for a control box are 12V. All other prs use 24V for the prox

    BL is Gnd
    BRN is +24V
BLK is IP 2 or 3

    Thank You Gary,

Should I grab 24+ at the spindle plug or the incoming 24+ plug on the side?

Look at the alpha instructions and it shows how to hook it up with 24 volts on that system. That should work for yours. You must have one of the new std systems.

One word of caution, be sure the prox switch you are installing has an "Open Collector" type output. Sometimes these are labeled "NPN" output. Other types may apply the 24v to the input pin of the control board. Big risk of SMOKE then.

They are Open Collector, So I wonder where I should pick up 24+ as there is no output 24+....
