Default Bar Tap Handle, First Aspire Project.

Here is a tap handle I designed and built for a local sandwich shops, custom label. The beer is a parody of our towns local news paper "the valley reporter" which is often referred to as the valley distorter by locals. The tap handle was designed to look like a rolled up newspaper, and modeled in 3D with aspire.

I machined the handle in two halves from curly maple and glued them together, then sanded and finished with danish oil, and spray poly. The v carved lettering, and details were masked prior to machining and sprayed with a rattle can.

The model was created using 2 rail sweeps in aspire, and the smoothing function found in the sculpting tools. I could not have created this without aspire, and I am very pleased with the program. The learning curve to model this project, including the training videos was under 10 hours.
