We will be participating in the World Maker Faire ( http://makerfaire.com/newyork/2010/) @ New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows in Queens on September 25 & 26th. We will meet at our tent from 4-6 on the 24th (Friday)and then join the rest of the Makers at 6:00pm for a Maker Dinner on the Faire Grounds. Free tickets to the Faire will be given to people that attend Friday afternoon.
Please let us know if you can make it, and as soon as we know where our tent will be located on the grounds we will post here on the forum. We are bringing a Buddy 32 Standard and a PRSalpha 9648 with a spindle (both of which are for sale) PLUS the new Desktop.

Here is a map of our booth location at the Maker Faire. In the event this turns out to be too small for you to see clearly we are located just inside the "Science Ave" entrance, and once inside there will be a large tent on your right hand side which is labeled "Fabrication".
We'll be at the booth from 4-6PM on Friday the 24th. Stop by and see everyone, and pick up your free ticket to the Faire.

The weekend in NYC was a LOT of fun for all of us. Shopbot had a bunch of things going on in our booth all weekend, and as you will see from the pictures on the Flickr page- http://www.flickr.com/photos/campsho...th/5030373330/
I think everyone who visited us had a good time as well.
We showed off the new Desktop machine, a Buddy, and a PRS 48 x 96 machine. Lots of cutting all weekend with everything from 3D carvings to "instant signs" that Sallye Coyle was making for kids/parents who showed up.
Russ Todd of Widget Works showed some of his latest after market Shopbot items ( the "pressure foot" will be of major interest for those people doing very small,thin items where standard vacuum setups will not hold them down).
Martha had a constant stream of kids ( up to about 80 years old) playing with the Linker logs we were constantly cutting out in an effort to keep up with the "demand".
Angus Hines brought up a set of his "Lawn dominoes" (which also worked well for Hop Scotch...NYC style).
Robert Bridges had a scaled down model of his "Shelter 2" buildings that he is erecting down in Haiti.
Bill Young brought a bunch of his gadgets, and toys.
And as with all Maker Faires there were the usual , and (Un)usual booths
( "pet a worm"was one of my favorites at the Vermiculture exhibit) to "chariot" races in which the entire field was decimated during the first heat due to equipment failure, operator lunacy, and gravity.....
If you are anywhere NEAR a Maker Faire in the future, do yourself a favor and stop in for a day....
