    Default off breed spindle/vfd

    Hi
Does anyone know what the chance of an imported (hongkong or china) spindle with VFD being nearly a plug and play? Or possibly a Delta or Yakashaw?? Vfd working on one?
On ebay there are 3 KW with VFD and er20 collets for 560 or so. Just seems so much cheaper than hsd.
    thanks

they would work but not with the speed control you would have to do the speed manually. but remember you get what you pay for.

    Lorin,

I put one on my machine last week and have about 20 sheets cut up so far with it.

I am happy so far, but that is not a long term test.

If you want to see the programming pdf send me an email.

I can switch it off and on remotly, but it is not tied in to speed control on the SB

There are two options. I can supply a 0-10 volt voltage and vary the spindle speed that way, or I can preset 4 speeds and switch between them with relays.

    I chose the second option.

I also made an offer and they took less.

    lorin,
I put a water cooled china made spindle on about a year ago, no regrets. I used a delta VFD so that I could use the speed control. Do some research on the spindle and the bearings it uses. Some of the "so called cheap spindles" use the same bearings as the higher cost spindles while others do not. good luck
