Default Biscuit slots for hold down

I've been wanting to come up with a low profile clamping setup to avoid having a clamp interfere with the cutter. When I was using my biscuit cutter on another project I realized that I could use the slots to clamp a board to the CNC table for machining. The slots are 1/2" deep so I needed to make the board at least 1" oversize. I made L shaped clamps that fit into the biscuit slots and drilled a hole in the body of the clamp so that I could bolt it to the T-track. The clamping system worked very well.

So the idea is to size your material at least 1" oversize to allow for the bisquit slots then just cut away the excess after you are finished? Very clever!
That is definitely an idea that i am going to incorporate into my smaller parts holdown jig. Thanks for that!

Now why did I not think of that?

    Great idea.
