Default Modification to my new Desktop

    I finally have my 18 x 24 desktop working.
I made two changes, one with the dust removal and the other a frame around the table with splited 2 x 4 and I use old letterpress chase lock.
I guest if you don't have the old letterpress lock, you can simply use two wedges and tapped with a hammer in place.
I put the video in YouTube if you care to look. The dust removal that came with the machine is to complicates and masive, so I made my own
Let me know what you think

Thats probably the best dust collection design I have seen for the desktop model so far !!

And Everybody you can save yourself some time by jumping to about 5 minutes into the video to see the Mod.

That setup for hold down is clever. It looks like it would work nicely as a temporary "fixture" that could be placed on a larger machine as well.

Rolando- glad you have joined the SB community!

Contributions like that help us all. I think you will find some of the methods we use on the bigger machines are useful to you. Sometimes just as inspiration, other times something you can use directly.

I really enjoyed your video- and I am not in the engraving business, yet you have shown a method of hold down that is excellent! Well done!

Rolando - enjoyed your very informative video. Thank you for taking the time to share your projects with us. Well done! Since you do primarily engraving work check out Widgetworks new 'pressure foot' for doing very small precise work with a Bot. And please post some more of your projects as you get further along.
