    Default UpCut bits..

What r they good for? I don't really care for the way they rough out 3d carvings or e-cabinet applications. I primarily use the 1/4 " downcut. Am i doing something wrong? From the beginners set of bits, i use the 60 degree v-carve, 1/4" downcut, and 1/8" ballnose.

    pls advise.

    Jeff...
Upcut bits are a bit designed for CNC use. They are designed to evacuate chips fast to allow fast cutting. Even tho they are used by many, to me are not always the best solution. Downspirals chip out less in solid wood, unless cutting thru.

For veneer plywood cutting nothing beats the compression spiral, or if you are using dado construction, the mortise compression. THis bit (compression) was designed for veneer sheetgoods cutting on a CNC and it has both upcut and downcut sections.

You mention eCabs, are you a SB Link user?
