    Gary,
Looks like you got 2 grand worth there on the table. Even at $250.00 each you would be saving him 50% however i have a feeling your client could probably afford the full bill and better yet you exlain that what you are giving him is CUSTOM CARVED moulding, not mass produced ****.

Keep in mind you need to tip your helper there (tim) so make it worth your while.

That's right up there with mounting road kill.

    Thanks for posting Gary,

I always enjoy seeing what you're doing. This sparks an interest in designing decorative borders. It seems to me, armed with a couple brad point round overs and strait bits there are some good possabilities. I've need to try out some of your techniques. They are spectatular.

Note Hafele's is a small flat molding. GC expanded it into a crown and a pretty good size one at that. He damned well better not have charged less!

    Gary,

A beautiful accomplishment! You really do NICE work! How did you settle upon this design? Was it something the customer had seen, something you suggested? How did it come into the conversation?

    Monty...
The customer saw it online, and of all places the KrapMaid sight. I do have a friend that is a dealer for them and she told me that it was a Hafele molding.

After I saw both the size and prices, I made contact with Tim Merrill, as he had posted a similar piece. An arrangement was made with Tim to provide the models I needed, and voila!, a link to D/L them was in my inbox.

Since I do very little 3D work, mostly as a result of the software collection moving at the speed of cash, it is a lifesaver to have the resources of other ShopBotters available at reasonable prices. Production sharing at its finest.

Thanks again to Tim for the help, and to the rest of you for the kind words. Well, except for the roadkill referrence!

Now that it was mentioned i did see a similar design as an accent on some cabines but it was only like an inch wide, it was nice but the cabinets were expensive because of it. This is so much nicer.
