Default Spindle speed window hiding and comm test issue

OK so its been a long time since I assembled my machine and have had so little trouble with it Ive forgotten most of the tricks I need to remember to fix my little issues. For one I switched to a newer laptop & Vista, as I thought the old desktop had given up. Turned out to be the serial to USB cable. So got a new one, and I can drive the machine via key commands(K), & arrows. I also used to Cut rectangle command and it worked, but when I ran a speed test to see what I was getting it says Bot is not on any port. So that remains to be seen if I have a real issue or not when I go to run a file.Using a powered hub btw, 2nd issue, When I hit a TR command the speed window opens for a second and disappears. Its been a while since I installed that too, do I need to install drivers for it on the laptop? Thanks all. Neville

did you reload the firmware for that computer? Any time you change computers you have to reload the firmware.

    Neville,

You may have something corrupt in windows registry for the spindle control program. If you open Regedit.exe and go to...

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\ShopBot\Virtual Tools\Spindle Control\Main

...Once there, check to see that the port number is right. It's also possible that the location of the window is off screen somewhere. Those setting are in "Form Loc".

    Neville...
When you do a speed test on a laptop, make sure you try all the ports. I just checked one over the weekend and 3 ports ranged from 69 to 90%
