Default help making a giant egg.

a film company needs a big egg around 6' tall. a girl will have her head poking out of it. I don't think foam would hold up to a bunch of use. I am thinking of using a framework like this put something on the inside then spray the outside with that foam for walls and it smooth then go from there.

Thats a good plan Steve i use the same method on many film projects
you can wrap the inside with burlap mcmaster carr sells it.
The spray foam is really reasonable if done by a insul. contractor
or you can buy the insul-pacts. yourself also from Mcmaster-carr.There not
as good as the heated spray but they work, they sell them in kits as large as
2 propane size bottles. After its carved back a plaster glue can be applied
and it can be skim coated with plaster. Other products are also available such as sculpta-cote which are made to cover foam sculpures and what not,to create a durable finish (rosebrand ny. ny.)

    Good luck on that EGG

I'd suggest slices of blue foam? Cheap and if cut thin would make a large egg pretty cheaply.

I had thought of that but a person is going to stand in side it. but I need to find out her feet may come out the bottom I don't have enough info. but even out of cheap foam it is about 400 just in foam as I would need about 16 sheets.

At that price Steve I would be thinking along the lines of "Can this project go from start to finish in one day including design?" If not the first discussion is for them to raise their budget or don't waste my time.

Yeah... $500 sounds a bit low for anything that takes more than a day including materials.

yes I may be able to do the work in the day but the materials wil double the price. it could be an interesting job though. didI mention the vagina in the side of the egg?

This may seem obvious, but did you consider renting a giant chicken to lay one for you?
