Default HELP cut depth not right???

I tell my tool to cut .2 deep.
    It only goes down .13
    I didn't change anything
I tried to tell it to cut .25 deep and it still only cuts .13 deep!
    I'm stuck!

Does the machine say it's cutting .13 or .25 deep?

If machine says .13, then we probably need to see your part file.

If it says .25, could be machine, but need a little more info - how thick of material are you cutting. Where are you zeroing. What software did you use to generate the tool path etc.

Are you zero to the top of the material your cutting and did the unit value for your z get changed. Also make sure and try to move your Z up and down by hand to see if you have any play in the Z. If you can move your Z by hand you may have a loose pion grear. When you check your Z make sure the control box is turned on.

Most likely it is something overlooked. Check and re-check everything.

I always check the loose nut operating the machine first. One of my checks is to make sure that I saved the file WHERE I thought I did. I transfer all my cut files on a thumb drive. Manys the time I saved it to an internal hard drive and then wondered why it cut the same again.

I was cutting Diebond. Cut first one fine. The bit was dull,so i put in a better bit, cut another one and this is where it went wrong.
I went back and set the tool path to cut .25
    Still only .13

OK today it seems to work!
Maybe it needed a good nights sleep.
