    Thumbs down Spindle control

I had a project that needed 80 or so small 1/6 inch holes drilled to accept wood screws. I ordered the appropriate drill with a 1/8 inch end and mounted it in the spindle.

When I made up the tool path the spindle would not start.

Well, duh! It is obviously looking for an air drill.

But how about those of us who don't have an air drill? How can we make the drilling toolpath control our spindle?

You can use a Drilling toolpath with an 1/8" bit:

Use the same post processor you would if creating a profile toolpath.

I had a few hundred holes to do recently for ventilation and did what Brady is suggesting. It worked well, and took 20-30 minutes vs the HOURS of drilling I would have had to do if done manually. Now- I do not have a spindle just yet--- but I don't believe that it would matter as far as the type of action you would program, and the control of the spindle or router!
