Etching Pint Glass

Does anyone have any suggestions for etching on a pint glass. I think I remember a while ago seeing a pint glass someone etched with a diamond drag bit. The glass was constrained in a fixed jig and the I don't believe a rotation axis was employed. I can't figure out how the programming was done or if this is possible to do. Thanks for any help.

Create a relief of your glass (this would be 1/2 of it). Create your letters and use shape editor (in Artcam or the equivilent in Aspire) to subtract the relief a tiny bit (like .015) and then machine the relief confined to the vectors.

the drag bit is expensive. mine was 350.00 it is spring loaded. if you are only doing one you may look for a laser engraver they can do it easily.

Thinking about grabbing one for engraving metal but for most of my other stuff I use my laser engraver. It is fast and easy. Check around by you for small local shops and ask them if they have a rotary attachment.
