    Default Cutting Kydex

Is anybody cutting Kydex that can share what bit you are using, cut speed and RPMs that you are running? I'll be cutting 1/8" material.

    Thanks in advance,

I use a single, double or triple flute Onsrud or Behlin spiral-O. Speed will depend on design and bit diameter. RPM in the 13,000-15,000 range.

Cut some samples. Look at the edge. Adjust feed/speed accordingly.

Thanks Brady. Talked to the local rep today and he recommended the onsrud bits. I cut a sample and broke 2 bits. I was trying to cut it like sintra. Bad idea.

He should be able to tell you the right chipload for cutting it. Remove dust foot, cut some material and let the chips rooster tail into your hand. Then measure thickness with calipers. That's your chipload.
