    Default collets

i am sure that there are many. i am only assuming that you have porter cable router. these are compatible with that router. you will need the kit, which includes the collet, nut and wrench.

i have their product and it pretty good but you will definitely need the NEW wrench not the old. the old is good for nothing but frustration and busted knuckles.

    Rick:

Thanks for pointing out the new wrench. I had stopped using my precise collets out of frustration with the wrenches!

    Default new wrench

i guess if you are good with a grinder you could modify the old. but Santa has a new wrench in the mail for me as i type. i am a tall guy so you can imagine trying to use the old wrench from my perspective and how frustrating it was. but i have had good reviews on the new and improved wrench from my mentor.

Precise has both a 1/8 inch Collet and a 6MM collet. They are just slightly different sizes, but you need the right one to get good results. A lot of the folks who sell bits will interchange the two thinking that the size is so close that it makes no difference. If the bit is not marked check with a mic before chucking up, you will save a whole lot of wear and tear on your equipment.

    Default bit bushings

    these work pretty well,

I have a number of the 271's and the 273's

I coat the shank with some medium strength lock tight with them... that may affect the electrical conductivity to the z plate

The decimal point seems to be the most important on the z axis... x & y not so much....

When I used a PC router, I used 1/4" to 1/8" adapters, commonly available.
Whiteside is one outfit that has them.
