    Default Dust Shroud

    Hi All,

Made a new dust shroud for a PRS Alpha with tool changer. Cut from 1" plexi- comprised of four separate pieces. Flame polished the plexi post cut - although I was impressed with how well it cut and finished the acrylic from just the bit. Overall I was happy with the turn out so I thought I would share.

Let me know what you think!

    Cody:

Sure looks pretty! How does it perform when cutting MDF? And who did you use as your brush source?

Looks very professional, and I will bet it does its job without getting in the way.

Cody, picture #5 shows a Alum Block/Bracket on each side of the X axis Truck and they look like something you made to cover the rollers.

    Could you elaborate on them?

    Hi,George

I believe you are referring to the felt track sweeps/lubricators.
There are 4 on the gantry gussets one on each side of the gusset
that clean and lube the x track. Also there are 2 on the y axis track ,
we spray wd-40 on the top of the felt daily, it works its way thru the felt
to lubricate the track. Not sure if this a shopbot feature as we purchased
this machine from Master Gary C. and he had many special ingenious add ons.
It may pay to contact Gary and ask him but i would be happy to take pictures
of them the next time I'm in the shop.

    Best wishes

By the way Cody is my son and operator and Gary has been a true
blessing to us i can't say enough good things about him

    Cody...
Great job on the dust shroud! Dare I ask why you needed a new one?

    Buster...
Thanks for the kind words, you have a great kid there.

    Gary,

I accidentally broke the original because I killed the power without realizing the air had been disconnected. As a result, gravity took over and the dust shroud couldn't take the impact- breaking a large piece off the side.
