    Default cheap but effective

Hi everyone, I just installed a cheap but effective laser cross hairs on my
machine, I purchased it from woodcraft on sale for $29 and change. It is used for a drill press but mounted perfectly to my spindle. Runs off a 9 volt and is fully adjustable.

That looks hi-tech and impressive enough, but what are the benefits? Not trying to be a smarty, I'm just wondering.

Dan are the lasers angled slightly to hit center at a certain height from the work surface? When do you center to material and what are the advantages of that. Thanks Bob

yes they are angled however they dont change the center position when the spindle raises and lowers. the X cross hairs stay in the center of where the bit is . X-0 ,Y-0. I xy to the center on alot of stuff that needs the artwork to be in the exact center of the material. or when working off the end of the machine(holding a piece vertical) I used to chuck up a v bit and check it that way but this way is much faster.
