lost Z settings buddy 32 x24

Hi guys you have not heard from me for a while. Still making wooden toys.
I now have a problem.
Cutting some toy parts in a ¾ board, the job was almost done when the board moved and the bit jammed and broke. I hit the space bar sent the spindle home. Installed a new bit and a new ½ inch board this time to cut some circles zero with z plate set to top of material.
Every thing the same as always Every thing works fine except every thing is cut about ¼ inch above the board I tried a 3/4 inch board it did the same thing cutting all above the board. I checked the setscrews in the Z stepper motor and was tight. I reset the ini files
Set zero from table mz, 4 and it raised to 5” measured ok. Did the UR thing and checked VU and compared it with the computer in the office found to be the same.
Just wondering if one of you experts could help me fix this problem.
