    Default Melamine Plenum Board

    Hello all,

Just got our PRT96Alpha and we were getting ready to rout the plenum board and we were wondering if a sheet of 3/4" mdf core with double sided melamine would be a good choice. Seems like it would be, but thought I would run it by those with more experience for the pros and cons.

    Tony,
You MUST seal the edges of the board well if you want to keep your vacuum where you want it. Melamine will be OK, with PVC or phenolic being the best.

    Thanks Brady,

We actually thought about spraying the edges with poly as directed, but also applying edgebanding to the sheet as well to further enhance the edge seal.
