Bill,
Any chance of seeing the probe run? I'm mainly interested in the 2d profile feature, so that would not take hours of demo like a small 3d probing would.

Kevin,
I can run through that when we speak about digitizing/scanning...

I'll be there with a couple of others from our shop just across the street. Really looking forward to it!
Greetings, we are excited about going to camp Saturday!
There are 2 things we are working on now, that we are curious about and a software question.
One, I am working on a project to cut out a butt impression in a bar stool or chair seat. We are cutting one today and will see how it goes. I will bring one with me and would appreciate learning if I am doing it the best way or if there is another way that is better regarding cutting it or designing it.
We are still working with the old Windows 98 Shop Bot tower and Casmate and Enroute. We own Artcam but have been afraid to upgrade to one of these because we have not been using the machines very much to date. It would be nice to hear which software everyone suggests. We hope to upgrade to the new ShopBot controller very soon. I also heard that at ShopBot there is a 3rd software they use?
We waited because we wanted to start manufacturing something that we could retail or take orders for from others who wanted to use or sell a widget. We bought the Machines because we make custom wood boats from taped seam construction and wood boomerangs.
The second thing we build are kayaks and skiffs using Chesapeake Light Craft Designs. It involves reading the plans and transferring the offsets from the plans to the software and create a fair curve so we can cut out the flat panels for the boat kit.
Both my husband, Richard, and I are looking forward to see the facility and the equipment in action and to listen to all the ideas. We would like to find a niche, as I mentioned, to manufacture. As an artist, who paints, I would like to consider cutting out panels for doors and cupboards - from contemporary designs to northern Michigan wildlife, possibly window trim for cottages and of course everyone's favorite the cribbage board. I guess my 3rd thing I would like to learn is the easiest way to plan the holes in the cribbage board. Perhaps there is a cut file already out there that is a favorite?
Thank you see you all soon!
