Default How long to assemble and setup a new Shopbot

    Hey All,

I'm looking to get a Shopbot to handel a large contract I just got. I have experience running Shopbots but not setting them up.

How long does it really take from the day a new one arrives in the mail to when you can start regular cutting?

    Cheers.

I expect it's one of those questions that will have a different answer from everyone.

In my case it took two 10 hour days from unpacking to running properly. Lost about half a day puzzling over the control box location though as the instructions didn't match what I had.

    Alan,

I had mine assembled, power applied and things moving within 2.5 days (by myself). Getting it to be reliable was another issue entirely. That took me 5 weeks. Software bugs, hardware bugs and lots of broken bits. I was ready to take it apart and ship it back.

If you need to get a machine up and running quickly, contact Gary Campbell at ShopBot to see if he provides this type of service.

The other option is to look at one of the machines that is delivered, along with a technician, to your shop and they will have it up and running, probably, within hours of its arrival.

I had mine put together and running cutting the vacuum plenum a 10 hour day. It took another day to get the vacuum table plumbed and glued up.
