Beta Control Software

Just tried using the beta control software with the link.
Instead of drilling 0.5" deep holes it drilled all the way thru the
sheet and 0.5" into the spoil board. Then it didn't retract the router
enough and cutting while it was supposed to be jogging.

I do have an A axis with a 5mm router bit for drilling.

And yes, I did check that it was zeroed properly.

It sounds as though you havent set up your MTC system to be compatible with the SB Link. The MTC files have evolved a lot over the last few years.

Your results seem to be exactly what I would expect when using code that is generated for zero to bed and using the files setup for zero to material. The OEM distributed MTC files need a few changes to allow the "ZShift" variable to work with the Link.

IF you have upgraded from a fairly new version (3.6.32 or later) you may just be able to rename your SbParts or SbParts\Custom folder and use the prior version that was renamed with the beta install.

Give myself or one of the SB Tech Supt guys a call in the morning and we can walk you thru the process.

The new version clobbered my custom cut files, thought I had copied them back. I tried again and it's working now.

Funny thing was I tried to go back to the 3.6.44 version and it wouldn't update the controller firmware properly. It would come up with an issue with the emergency stop switch being engaged when it wasn't.

The beta version seems to cut more smoothly with less jerkiness going around corners.

I just wanted to say thanks for the offer of help and your frequent and prompt response to issues we all have.

I'm still running with the custom cut files you set up for me a few years back
when the link first came out.
