I recently found a 2 fluted upspiral bit in the shop and was wondering if anyone had use this or something similar on HDU. Would also like to know what kind of results you ended up with.
thanks in advance!!

Chad...
My experience is that you can use just about any bit on HDU, I once chucked up a nail to finish a job! If your HDU is particularly dense (20lb or so) the up cut bit may want to lift the material... be sure of your hold down method.

I've used 2 flute up spiral bit and got very good results.
one thing i forgot to ask about was what kind of stepover are you guys using...i added tool and it defaulted to 20% but my other end mills are in aspire larger than 1/4 are set at 40%. was not sure so i did not want to change anything in tool database yet.
thanks again
Chad...
What are you trying to do with the bit? Pocket? level? rough 3D? and what is the diameter?
SG
Leave it @ 40% for 2D operations.
Run 8-12% for 3D finishing with a ball end mill.
