    Default Post Processor question?

Is there a difference in the PP Shopbot_inch in partworks, and the Shopbot_inch in partworks 3D?

The reason I am asking is, I want to cut a 3D file on my small CNC. It is running on Mach3. I don't have cut 3d just PW 3D. Is there a way to put a PP for Gcode in PW3D? Hope this makes sense.

    John,

There shouldn't be a difference between the two. As far as putting one of the Mach3 PP's into PW3D, I'm not sure, as I don't have it, but you could give it a try by putting a copy of it into the Post Processor folder and see if it shows up in the list. I think that is only takes SB PP's, but I may be wrong.

The other option though would be to take the file from PW3D and run it through the converter in SB3 (File/Conversions) and save it out as G-code.

I was going to try and copy the Gcode PP from Vcarve pro and put it in the PW3D postp folder. Not sure if it will work but might be worth a try.
I didn't know SB had a converter to take sbp files and turn them into Gcode. This could also be a fix if the PP doesn't work. If any one has any experience with moving the Gcode PP to PW3D please chime in.

dont bother, you know that you can pull toolpaths into Vcarve pro/partworks from cut3D/partworks3D.

In Vcarve -- import v3D files... export your cutting files from there.

PS: at that point you can export using "Mach 2/3 arc inches(txt)" post. I do it for the tormach (that is running Mach3 regularly).

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
