When you stop a toolpath and nudge the z axis does that effect your z zero. Does it stat nudged when you part load the next file?

Am I missing something How do you do a nudge I am using SB 3.8 software.
'MN' or you can also do it when pausing a file and choosing to Move/Nudge.

I have a similar question regarding z-axis nudge.
I am doing a final profile cut, and I noticed that it wasn't quite cut all the way through to the spoilboard, say .002" not low enough. How would I use the nudge command to lower my tool in this instance? Do I nudge in the negative direction? Positive direction? I tried both, but it seems like either I didn't nudge it enough, as I was not getting the tool to cut all the way through my material. I ended up going back into vcarve, editing the toolpath, and reloading the .sbp

A negative value nudge should bring you closer to the spoilboard. If you watch closely, you can actually perceive this movement and verify it's going the right direction.
As always, it's a good idea to find out why you need to adjust in the first place.
- Surface the table recently?
- Major atmospheric shifts in humidity?
I've learned to surface mine a bit more regularly, and enjoy much more accurate results. Clean cuts, very little witness lines on the table.

If you don't cur cut all the way through I usually just stop the machine lower the bit it and cut that last path again. like if the pockets are not coming out deep enough you usually need to lower the bit then do it all again. but I use nudge too sometimes just depends. But bit sharpness can change the depth of cut like a downcut will start leaving a little bit on the bottom of the cut as it dulls.
