    Default Edge lit acrylic

I am trying to source small amounts of edge lit acrylic. This is the stuff that when you shine a light in the edge, it comes out the front and it comes in 1/4" thick sheets. Endlighten is one brand. Are there any sign making places that source small amounts like half sheets. I want to play with some, but I can't find small pieces.

    thanks,
    John

    John,
CYRO makes their "Acrylite FL"which sounds like what you want ( The "FL"stands for "flourescent"...). Most sign supply houses stock this brand, as well as some less expensive imports, but most imported colors aren't as vivid as the Acrylite stuff...
We used to pay about $150 a sheet (.125")a few years back, you'll need to check for current pricing...I know that it does come in thicknesses up to .5"

John, If you have ever bought from local sign or plastic suppliers they may have some pieces you can get at little or no cost. I know my salesman in Austin puts back small pieces of different materials for me to play with, usually free. James

Man, could someone make a huge amount of money *reliably* sourcing small amounts of exotic material. Kingboard, gator, endlighten, FL, corian in various thicknesses and colors. Some of this is available on ebay, but not always reliably.

If I go full time someday, I'll source supplier quantities and sell hobbyist sizes that can be UPS shipped.

I looked and they have lots of "plain" stuff. Clear acrylic, polycarb, sheets and tubes and stuff. I emailed them.
