    Default xzy zero plate

Just got my xyz zero plate back from the shop and looks great.
It was machined with in .0002", I know it is over kill but it was a donation to our cnc project.
Got the idea/drawing/files to make it work from Scott Worden.
Now I just need the Bot...

Very nice… Something the bot should come with, in my opinion!

Tolerance of 0.005mm ... That should be kept in vacum isolated box ...
    Nice piece by the way

I am using precision milled CS plates post grinded on surface grinder pretty much within +- 0.01mm. Both plates are mirror finished and I can see my face on the movable as well as fixed Zero setter plate ... Your seems to me not that good as it has micr-tooling marks i am jealous The hole in your plate seems to me BORED on boring/milling machine... I doubt you can't get the HOLE tolerance of 0.0002" without using reamer or other finishing tools/methods
I left woodwork due to office work.

Yes, they did say the hole was not down to .0002" (how could you tell the it was milled and not reamed by the picture, I work in mainly wood so I do not have a clue).
The rest is smooth as glass, I know it does not look like it but it feels nicer then my IPAD screen.

I built one a couple years age but I find myself not using it. It does work very well but I now just use the C3 command f zero and the touch plate for the Z that way if I have to do a tool change the machine is starting from the exact same point

    Kyle,
That looks great. I gave the plans to a machine shop and said "no hurry"
(bad idea) its been 2 months. Could I ask what they charged?
Would like to get one before I am so old I won't remember what its for.

It was a donation but, I did ask and he said about $300.00 (3hr shop time)
He mainly does work making injection molds for 3M and the Military.
