    Default Sign Hanging

I have this sign bracket and I'm wondering what is a good rule of thumb for weight limit on hanging a sign .

the sign hanging on this bracket is about 30 lbs

this bracket is 2x2 steel 42" long what would be a approx. maximum weight limit for a bracket like this.

    any suggestions ?

Is the square part of the bracket welded into the base?

Your weak link is top screw. In theory you can put 362 lb on regular deck screw threaded in wood. You have to account for metal fatigue and other things.
I seen a 36x96 steel box sign hanging on 1/4 bolts two in the wall and two wired up similar to yours.

Terry - That is a good looking sign bracket. Where did you get it from?

I think you could hang about any type of sign on that bracket without worry. I am pretty sure that I could do pull ups on that thing.

Most of the pipe I hung in the powerhouses didn't have a hanger that good
That should hold just about any small car on the market

    Default Sign brackets

Although I have never bought from this place, their product looks good. http://www.hooksandlattice.com/stand...-brackets.html

I have a question regarding rectangle or square signs. But are there steel brackets or tubing that you can go around the perimeter of the signs so that the weight is supported by the steel and not the eye screws on top? If they are available please give me a link.

    Terry,

    That's a handsome sign.

Down here in the southwest we receive lots of wind. This kind of panel does well but we guy wire it from the sides as well at the top. Otherwise it wouldn't make it through the sprint.

Swinging signs are excellent because they give with the wind. Your attachment to the pole is also correct. Little chains will bounce the sign around and take it apart.
