Default Placing a 3D object upon a contoured surface

We are still new to our CNC but are trying different things. We are trying to import a 3D object onto a contoured surface. We have probed a gun stock using the copy machine provided by shopbot, and have gotten our DXF file of the gun stock pattern with which to work. The image we are trying to import is from Aspire and is part of the DC Animal Collection. This image is in a recessed bowl. We are trying to make the outer edges of the bowl bend to the contoured surface of the gun stock but have been unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated,

    Carl,
If you email me the files via IBILD.com I will take a look at it for you. Whenever you add geometry to an unwrapped file, there is rotary distortion to contend with - which means you have to do some convoluted things to get it to look right.

Below is an example of a fish relief just added to a stock. You can see how it gets distorted and skewed.
