    Default Problem with Port 3

Hi guys, I got the error message below when I started my PRS96 this morning. All the connections seem good and both the pc and the controller restart normally, but I always get this error message. Any hints or suggestions? Thanks in advance, Stan

Thanks Jerry. I tried the UR command and reloaded the appropriate driver, but there is no difference to the outcome. I also continued in preview mode, and when I toggle to cut mode the Input #4 (kill switch) light turns red with a flashing yellow circle around it.

Does that mean the controller thinks the kill switch is on?

I have tried setting and releasing the kill switch with no change. Will check the wiring next.

    Thanks again, Stan

    Stan,

Have you recently updated the software? If so, have you updated the firmware in the controller (UI)?

Check the 'Switch #4 STOP Type' under VI and make sure it's set to 0-Nrm Closed Stop.

Check the wiring for the e-stop to be sure one or both the switches in it are connecting. Had one recently that was connecting and after being hit, wouldn't reconnect upon resetting. Control box wouldn't/shouldn't reset though if that was the case.

Check and reseat USB cables, try another port.
    Scott

Thanks guys! I ran several of your suggestions, but couldn't get the control box to answer the pc, so called Shopbot's tech line. Jeremy walked me through a series of checks, and we found that the computer power supply in the top back of the controller box is not supplying 5vdc to the board. I have another on its way...keeping my fingers crossed!
