    Default Our Local Govermment

I just found out that our local government has appointed me to be on the board to help develop a arts and crafts school here in our County, That the Recommendations came from the Governor of Kentucky. Was doing paper work when local News people came to the house.

If this works out this will be a place where all can come spend a week or two take classes for everything from pottery to painting ...

    Eugene,

That's great, I wish we had more of that type of program in my area!

I did not know I would end up on the board. I had been trying to get our local government to do something with the 20 acres that were given to them for the arts and crafts. I had talked to everyone from the county Judge to our congressman. What I would like to see is a Art and Crafts Village that teaches Classes, Just like the John C. Campbell Folk Art School in North Carolina. Hopefully We will be able to have shopbot to come and teach classes here and where all can learn.

    Eugene,

There is also the Arts & crafts school up near Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.

I forgot the name of their school but I did visit it back in the early 2000's. Very nice school. All sorts of classes and stuff for people to take including a wood turning class by one of the leading wood turners in America.

Again, old age has forced the name to fall out of my head and I can't find where it hit the ground so I can put it back...

Don it is not old age that caused you to forget,, was UN-needed information: no need to waste good brain space storing information that was of no use to you anymore. I have been to Gatlinburg but I have never seen any info about it... I did not return from the navy till 2003 May be gone now. Does anyone have any information on this.
