Let me throw another one out there that is good for your free library. Its the USDA Forest Service publication Wood handbook : Wood as an Engineering Material.

To download the entire handbook, click 'view' in the top paragraph where it says 'view pdf'. Its a big file and best to save it to your hard drive for quick reference in the future.
