    Default Advances in 3D printing

This is a great example of the progress being made in the architectural use of this technology. Gob smacked by the use of different colours and textures.
Watch from a bit before four minutes. Well worth keeping up with this.

I saw a news story today that Lowes is going to be carrying 3D printers

Is this loose sand method a better way of doing it? I couldnt get my feeble brain around the methodology. How the heck are they getting every colour known to man?? Yes we cant wait for the Shopbot version but it looks like it has moved way past using little droplets of plastic from a heater. Could this be why Shopbot has delayed the release? Imagine how fantastic it would be to supply a client a model of his new kitchen!

Hey Bob.....that video is from the This Old House program and that particular series you watched, The Bedford House, was done back in 2011.....3 years ago. So it's not new technology. I dare say they were showing industrial level machines, not the home level types we have been seeing a lot recently....
