    Default Old cart, new paint...

I built one of the ShopBot computer carts many years ago and only finally got around to painting the poor thing. In the process I added some 3D printed brackets for the 2" steel casters I wanted to use.

    The brackets:

    Finished cart:

The brackets are printed from PLA on my Rostock MAX "Orange Menace" using a hot-ends.com j-head with a .4 nozzle.

Neat. That's the first 3D printed practical thing I think I've ever seen.

Thanks. Most of the stuff I print IS for practical use - and not for the printer itself.

I got into 3D printing to support my cockpit building hobby, so that's where most of the parts go.

Which 3D printer do you use? Those brackets look quite substantial.

I printed them on a SeeMeCNC Rostock MAX v1 printer I've named "Orange Menace". I write their user & assembly manuals on a volunteer basis.

Here's what the machine looked like right after I finished building it for the 2nd Ed. of the v1 assembly manual. http://www.geneb.org/rostock-max/gen...nge-menace.jpg

The side-mounted extruder has been long since removed and a smaller version was added to the top. "Red Sonja" has that configuration: http://www.geneb.org/rostock-max/red-sonja.jpg
