    Gene,

    I have never gotten them from this supplier, but I do not spend $27 for a collet, either. There are surely some concerns and variations that must occur... but I have not yet been able to tell the diff. SO don't get to feeling too defensive!

    I use a lot of these inside my basic 1/2" collet,

    They are quicker to change with the bit already in them.

    The decimal point seems to be the most important on the z axis... x & y not so much....
    ShopBot... Where even the scraps and things you mess up and throw away are cool....

    Get my collets from Tekniks. Have worked for me without failure since 2009. Have 4 different sizes I use regularly.
