Default Changing RPM on VFD and in software?

On the Desktop model, the spindle speed is manually adjusted on the VFD controller. Is it still necessary to change the spindle speed in the software (VCarve) as well?

    Thanks!

It might be a good habit to get into in case you move to a machine that sets the spindle speed automatically (like the bigger 'bots).

I would think it's useful to have the speed set correctly in the database for reference purposes as well so you know what speeds to use for future jobs once you've got the sweet spot dialled in.

There's no actual need to set it though.

I agree with Adrian, and usually have the .crv up on the computer at the same time I'm cutting so I can Mod the files and be reminded of the correct RPM for the toolpath. Many times the same bit will be doing quite different cuts(Profile cutout is Way different than doing a profile inside line for a hole for instance(They actually have a separate category"Drilling" in the database...Like wise my "Full depth/skinpass" settings for the same bit).
    Good habit.
