Spindle making whining sound

Had my desktop for 4.5-5 months now and it gets run about 15-20 hours a week, and yesterday the spindle started making a whining sound that's its never made, I mean sounds awful. The it stopped, then this morning I cranked it up and its awful sounding again...any idea what could be wrong? Im guessing its still under warranty?

Time for a call to ShopBot. Could be a bearing. I have never heard of a router or spindle that made a noise that makes you cringe- that it was not a significant problem... Do not hesitate. Call and they can tell you what to do to check it out.

I did and they responded in typically shopbot fashion....................with great customer service.....Ill be ordering my 3rd CNC from them later this year, I just love them
