Default Slight tick/play in router side to side motor

I did a 4hour Diamond engraving on granite and now I hear a slight tick when its rapid start/stops on its hatching but not long strokes

I can wiggle it side to side maybe 1/64"

Is this normal? Should I loosen the nuts and tighten up the pinion?

Have you tried tightening your pinion gears? They may have developed some slack. Any issues with the cut itself or was it ok?

Everything performs perfect, no issues other than the slack, cuts and engraving is spot on

I will try tightening the pinion
