Selling ShopBot Desktop with spindle (4 in. Z-axis). Excellent condition: Very little use and always followed spindle warm-up procedures. I never got the hang of the carving process and it is time for me to admit my CNC deficit and move on. The only thing I managed to make was sawdust & two online orders to replace broken bits. I am offering an effectively new Desktop D2418 w/ spindle (4" Z-axis), basic software, bits, and accessories listed below for the bargain price of $6200.

Yes, folks, I live in San Antonio. Also, I am amazed at the Shopbot community. I have had a gracious offer from a Desktop officianado to come to my town and take me to school on how to bend the Desktop to my will. With that in mind, I am officially deferring the sale of my Desktop. If he can teach this old dog some new tricks, I will gladly keep it and carve my way into the sunset:

This was one of the first things i carved and put in my shop and for some of us we need more "tutoring" then others sometime but then that lightbulb goes on in your head and you "get it" when someone guides you down that path of enlightenment the journey is far more enjoyable.
Let's just hope the guy who shows up is named "Master Po"...

I have to say that this gentleman just making the offer of help was a bright spot in a very tough year. If I were to mention this man's name, no doubt many of you would recognize him. It's not my place to ballyhoo his kindness but I will express my appreciation for that largess and I will think better of the world as a direct result of his offer. There are programs available to help people change their station in life; educationally, financially, spiritually, and physically. But I know, programs don't help people change anything, people help people change everything. God bless this virtual Shopbot community and the physical communities in which we all live and affect our neighbors.

I remember in the beginning, I found a mentor who lived not that far away. This forum and his help through email got me to the point that my stuff is turning out pretty good, not perfect but good. That said i still have a different mentor on here who is light years ahead of me and i reach out to him every now and then for advice. I remember my comment to tech support back in the beginning "I have a $10,000 hat rack in my garage and i dont even know how to turn it on".
