Default Another scrap board into something to look at.

My wife and I had cleaned up the shop last week, and she found a couple of old pine raised panel door inserts. So last weekend, I decided to start carving the first into a nice scene with a bear as the focal point.

Very nice! Did the pine require a lot of sanding to get rid of the frizzies?

    James,
No, there were only two small areas; at the bear's back and about two short area on the upper trunk of the tree. My guess that was from the rotation of the bit and direction of feed. The only areas I sanded was the perimeter of the frame in the file to the raised panel portion of the blank. Everything else was a finger nail swipe and it was clean.

The stain was a Moorish Teak on the scene and Modern Masters metal effect Copper with a blue patina acid to the detailed frame around the scene.
