    Default Rattling bit Amana 46174

I just received the Amana 46174 compression bit I ordered to cut OSB sheets with my Shopbot Buddy 48. It is not cutting a smooth edge, the edge is rather jagged like the bit is “jumping” around instead of straight move/cut. The sound it makes is also different. I am using the same cut program as I used before with Amana 46178 bits without any problem. My 46178 bits are out for resharpening so I cannot test them.

Do I need to modify parameters for this bit 46174?

Could it be the router? I just had it serviced, replaced brushes and one bearing. Looks and runs ok, verified RPMs and it is correct.

Could be time for a new collet. You can test by putting a piece of rod same size as collet in it and check the runout with a caliper. If you don't have a rod you can use a bit and just make darn sure you are above the cutters!
