Dan, I am assuming you call this denim pine because of the bits of blue coloring in the wood. If you like that, you should have seen the wood from a white oak tree I had sawn into planks, 15 years ago.
Embedded within this huge old oak, were LOTS of pieces of iron. Things like nails, spikes, barbed wire, and even a 3/4" dia. threaded rod, that was over a foot long........ Each bit of iron reacted with the acid in the oak, to create large, DARK blue stains. As I sorted through all the wood after it came from the lumber mill, I cut out all the big blue volumes of oak, and burned them! As I wanted clean, quarter sawn oak, I never imagined anyone would want such discolored wood.
