    Default ShopBot 2006 PRT-alpha 4' x 8' for Sale

I purchased this machine in March 2006. The machine was never really used for its intended purpose and ended up primarily as a hobby machine with very light use over the years. Unfortunately it has pretty much sat idle for the past two years, so it's time to sell it and free up the garage space. This is a great machine for someone who wants to get into CNCing.

    For Sale $7000

    Inlcudes:
    4'x8' steel bed
    PRT-Alpha control box
Porter Cable (model 75812) 3-1/4 hp router
    Z-zero plate
    Proximity Switch

    Does not Include:
    Computer
    Software
    Router Bits

Very clean looking machine! I wish you were closer to Chicago. This is essentially what I'm looking for and I think it's priced well. Not sure if shipping is a realistic option price wise. Either way, it would have to be broken up into pieces to get inside my basement. I have a small room down there dedicated to my old benchtop PRT machine (32x24 cutting area) and have to position it a bit oddly to account for the bed of the machine moving in and out (which to be honest is just a bit annoying). After using that design of having a moving deck, I've decided generally against getting the Buddy model. A 4x8 machine after you consider the full foot print is pushing it a bit but might be do-able if it's cornered. I just love the ability to use entire sheet goods. For other people who might be checking this out and/or have a unit this size, do you really need access to all 4 sides, or generally only for maintenance? In other words, can you live with shoving it into a corner and just have access from the front and side? I really need to measure that room again and see what kind of leftover space I'd be looking at.

Mine is in a one car garage, with just enough room against one wall (long side of Bot) for me to squeeze along it for maintenance. For longer sheets I have access to one short side for loading, and one long side for loading. When I did the math on the space the Buddy needed to cut 4x8 sheets, I'd have to leave the garage door open to use it, so I went with the 4x8 machine.

Hi, Thank you for offering your machine on Shop bot forums. I hope your day is excellent.

How much help can you give in loading on to a truck?

    Thank you,
