Welcome John.
I almost posted for you to call Dianne at Shopbot to see if anybody near you had registered a Desktop with her in your area as a Demo site.
Basically just call or E-mail her and register/agree to demo your machine if someone calls Shopbot with a question like John's, They hook you up.
I've demo'ed 3 and a half times(half was more of a social visit for a shopbotter looking at downsizing to a Desktop), and almost always learned as much as they did.
Nice to meet and exchange ideas with like minded people.
But a Really nice thing is, IF Gary registers AND John mentions when he orders his machine that Gary Demo'ed...Shopbot sends Gary a check
Only happened to me once, but sure was nice to see a check for $300+ for a Desktop sale!!
It was NOT the reason I demo'ed, but everybody can use more money for bits or towards another tool.
Had some pleasurable hours visiting with folk, and who doesn't like showing their machines to interested people.
Just thought I'd mention it Gary, as I was unaware of it for a bit, and wish I had gone to visit someone before we bought the Desktop sight unseen, as it would have let me hit the ground running. I would have been MUCH less nervous clicking the Start button my very first time.
You'll Love it John!! We wound up buying a second only months later.
When you get your feet under you John, maybe register also? Does help to defray your outlay, and never hurts to have money coming in.
Just thought I'd mention Gary.
Have fun.
