Default I got one of those "make a whole bunch of these" jobs.

I got 12 sheets done today, only 48 more to go.
They're trophies or recognition things for new members of the band here in my town.
My daughter is in her first year of band in high school, and my neighbor helps out. He immediately thought of me when this came around.

So I volunteered. That's the ONLY good part.
The kids will love them, they're way nicer than the old ones, and I not only designed the new "band notes", but I developed a whole process that'll be much, much easier on them.

I only mention this because I hate it.
I can't stand this sort of production thing, and I've turned down job after job.

    I also wanted to say:
    TOLD YOU SO, BRADY!!!

Once I get this knocked out, never again.
I'll stick with one-offs andfurniture and artsy-fartsy things I enjoy doing.
I'll leave this stuff to you guys.

Not sure I remember what was told...OR...Why you'd volunteer to cut 60 sheets gratis...(stab yourself in the leg for that one so you'll remember for next time...) I really hope these aren't 'participation trophies'...and they sound awfully big...

There is money to be made when you do 2D production...ONLY if you charge & get paid!!!

This is a great opportunity to learn not to write checks our butts don't want to cash. You volunteered and then regretted it shortly after...Head said 'yes' - heart said, "Dude what were you thinking...I'm not into this"

They are really big, only 8 "notes" per sheet. Just a little v-carving and then profile cut.
They're actually an award for rookies for their first year of band. So they're kind of a participation trophy, I think.
I don't really know, I didn't ask a whole lot of questions. I basically got railroaded by the wife, kid, and the neighbor.
I really don't mind doing it, it's for a good cause.
The job increased from a year's worth of "notes" to 4 years of notes because my kid and his kid will be in band for 4 years.
I won't need to be bothered again.

The boring factor is the thing. Even if I was making $100 a sheet, I'd still be bored.
I can make just as much (or more) doing things I want to to and enjoy.
I'm just not built for this production line stuff.

No pics, Scott. It's not that exciting.

Raising kids is not fun and excitement every day. I am sure many of these kids will hang on to these trophies for years.

Unfortunately, since they are participation trophies, most will probably toss them in a corner and Mom will throw them out when they move off on their own. The way of the world.
