The 3DP add on is currently in SBLabs. SB gives you the hardware and some installation instructions, but you are by & large on your own in terms of figuring it out. It isn't hard, but if this is your first 3DP, then it can be a little frustrating.

What are you looking to do with it?

I have a 3D printer and love it. I just checked out the SB add-on. It looks OK, but I would like to see a few additions.

It absolutely needs a cooling fan for the extruder feed and could really use a second fan at the printhead for cooling certain types of filaments, such as PLA. ABS is stinky! PLA is very commonly printed and it needs a fan at the printhead for immediate cooling. That being said, you could do PETG, if the printhead can take the high temps. It is also going to be limited in height vs many other desktop printers (at least for the Desktop model). Too bad you have to remove the dust collector mount and move the Z-mounts. You are also going to have to de-install parts of it to get back to cutting wood.

On the good side, if you wanted, you could have a HUGE print by making a print bed the size of the Shopbot bed.

Looks fun, but I'd wait until it is a bit more finished. As Brady mentions, and I will second, I would not recommend it to a first time printer user.

Thank you for the link. As always another very interesting development from the folks in Durham. Can't wait to see what's next! Russ
